Steve Rodway aka Motiv8 started his musical career as a vocalist and drummer, before settling as a keyboardist for Billy Ocean. Steve then started independent record label 'Nuff Respect Records in preparation for the single, "Rockin' for Myself ft Angie Brown".

While the success of this early single limited to club play, Steve Rodway's subsequent signed with Warner Brothers Music and a re-release of "Rockin' for Myself" took the single to No18 in the UK singles chart.

This was soon followed with an early remix of "Listen to the Music" by The Doobie Brothers (peaking at No 37 on the UK chart, only a week after "Rockin' for Myself" peaked) opening up further opportunities.

Rodway's distinctive style of crossover remixes soon became in demand and his talents came to the attention of Jarvis Cocker of the group Pulp. Cocker who requested a complete overhaul of "Common People" in the Motiv8 style; the resulting classic remix went on to replace the original version on the BBC Radio 1's playlist. Following the success of "Common People", Rodway remixed "Disco 2000".

Then came the production for Saint Etienne called "He's on the Phone", created by Rodway In 1997, Rodway took on remixing "Addicted to Love" by Robert Palmer.

A real breakthrough came in the form of The Eurovision Song Contest, who asked Motiv8 to enter a track for the unknown Australian singer Gina G for the contest. The track Ooh Aah... Just A Little Bit came a respectable 2nd in the contest, but went on to be a worldwide smash hit.

Hit after hit then followed with The Spice Girls Wannabe reaching No1 worldwide, Kylie Minogue - On A Night Like This - also a worldwide smash hit, and the Pet Shop Boys - Red Letter Day to name but a few.
